ComAgent is a small, multi-purpose application designed to run quietly on your desktop. It integrates with your WorldClient email account and can be used to check your mail, send and receive instant messages with other WorldClient users, and maintain your Windows Address Book (WAB). Since ComAgent resides in your taskbar it is easily accessible at all times, and it can be set as the default email client, working in tandem with WorldClient. ComAgent also has a variety of skins that you can use to change its color scheme. ComAgent has the following key components:
The ComAgent icon resides in the system tray on your Windows taskbar. It can be configured to blink when you have new mail, and it will display a tooltip listing the recipient of the mail when you hover your pointer over the icon. Most of ComAgent's features are reached through the Shortcut Menu, which is opened by right-clicking on the icon.
ComAgent's Shortcut Menu is opened by right-clicking on the ComAgent icon in the system tray. It provides access to all of WorldClient's main components. You can use it to open the ComAgent Window, set your instant messenger status (e.g. Away, Offline, etc.), send an instant message, open the preferences dialog, and more.
ComAgent's Instant Messaging feature can be used to send instant messages to your fellow WorldClient users. It also includes a spell checker, can be used to send files, and it has a logging feature so that you can view transcripts of previous conversations. Note: the instant messenger can only be used to communicate with other WorldClient users who share the same mail server as you. You cannot use it to communicate with users who have accounts on different servers. Instant messaging is reached through the shortcut menu or the ComAgent window.
The ComAgent window is a separate window that can be left open on your desktop. You can configure it to display your instant messenger contact list (your "buddy list"), your mail folders, or both. It is a quick and convenient way to send instant messages or check your mail folders.
To open ComAgent's Preferences dialog, right-click on the ComAgent icon and click ComAgent Preferences... on the shortcut menu. The preferences dialog contains seven screens, used to configure various user preferences such as: your login credentials, how often you wish to check your mail, instant messaging alerts and sounds, address book synchronization options, a variety of general options, and more.
